The Mildura region experiences 122 clear days each year, and 77 days (on average) when the temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius. This is the ideal climate to get on the river and relax, enjoy the great outdoors and play golf, dine outside at Gol Gol Hotel or Trentham Estate Winery Restaurant, attend an outdoor festival at Nowingi Place, explore Kings Billabong or hire a fishing tinnie, pedal boat or canoe to have fun on the Murray!
The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild winters. Most rain falls between May and October, with the average rainfall approximately 250mm.
Summer is hot with plenty of sunshine and warm days. Temperatures vary but 35-40 degrees Celsius is common. Bring your water toys or hire some of ours and have a great time! No need to sunbathe, you will get a great tan from incidental exposure to the sun, so remember to slip, slop, slap! Of course all our houseboats are air conditioned.
In autumn the days are warm and the evenings chilly. The houseboats remain cosy though. Lighter clothing is recommended during the day and some warmer clothes for evenings. This is great golfing weather!
Winter months have mild days and cold nights. But the spa on your houseboat will always be hot! This is a great time of year to enjoy a campfire on the beach, and do some star gazing! Good bushwalking weather too! Enjoy the comfort of your heating on board at night.
Spring brings warm days, but the nights remain cool. Lighter clothing is recommended during the day and some warmer clothes for evenings. Explore the billabongs and sanctuaries to see the wildflowers emerging, and keep an eye out for the cute ducklings and cygnets on the river with their parents! Time to get on the water for the first time maybe in a canoe or pedal boat.
